Weselyan College saw its two-game winning streak come to an end in a 100-55 home loss to Great South Athletic Conference rival LaGrange College.
In a match-up of unbeaten rivals, who was not on the floor became as important as who was on the floor. The Pioneers lost starters Brie May and Erinn Williams to injury in the first half with the Panthers putting together a 21-0 run while Wesleyan re-grouped. Stefanie Schuck and Alex Wilson each hit three first half three-pointers to seperate the two teams.
Ciara Walker stayed in excellent form for Wesleyan (2-1, 0-1 GSAC), finishing with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting while Bre' Solmone packed the stat sheet with nine points, nine boards, five assists and five blocks. Six Panthers (5-0, 2-0) reached double figures led by Heather Miller's 18 points.
Wesleyan returns to action on Saturday when they host Spelman College in a second straight GSAC game. Tip is scheduled for 2:00pm.
