Agnes Scott Uses Strong Second Half to Stop Wesleyan

Trailing by only six points to Agnes Scott at halftime, the Wesleyan College basketball team was unable to overcome a strong shooting performance by the Scotties in the second half, losing by a score of 67-39.

The Scotties used a 29-8 run to put the game away after the intermission, while holding the Pioneers to 27% shooting from the floor for the game and forcing them into 22 turnovers.

Wesleyan was led in scoring by Evgenia Korun's nine points, while Bre Solmone contributed five points and 15 rebounds.  The Scotties were paced by Genefine Sapateh's double-double (10 points/12 rebounds) performance.

The Pioneers travel to Atlanta on Tuesday, Feb. 8 to take on Spelman College at 6:00pm before returning to Porter Gymnasium on Wednesday for their final home game of the season against Maryville College.
