Montgomery, Ala. - The long holiday layoff led to a sluggish performance in Wesleyan basketball's return to the court on Wednesday night. The Pioneers shot only 14% from the floor in their 64-31 loss to Huntingdon College.
With only five players making the trip to Montgomery, Wesleyan played hard for all 40 minutes but could not overcome its poor shooting performance. Lindsay Haggerty led the way for the Pioneers with 15 points, five rebounds and four steals, while Bre Solmone pitched in six points and pulled down 10 boards.
Twenty different players saw time on the court for the Hawks, who were led by Chelsea Graham's 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the 3-point line.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Covenant College. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm.
