Wesleyan Softball Drops Two to League-Leading LaGrange

The Wesleyan College softball team faced off with GSAC leader LaGrange College on Saturday, dropping both games of a doubleheader, 2-1 and 9-0.

In the day's first game, Wesleyan kept the game close throughout but could not overcome four errors on defense, losing 2-1. Cheyanne Siebenaler gave up only six hits in her outing, but Wesleyan could not find an offensive rhythm and was only able to generate four hits of their own. Senior shortstop Lacie King went 2-for-3 from the plate, pacing the Pioneer offense.

Sophomore pitcher Kristen Woodard pitched a one-hitter in the second game of the day to give LaGrange a shutout victory, 9-0. Junior Jennifer Knight hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning, one of the Panthers nine hits for the game.

The Pioneers will travel to Huntingdon College on Monday, April 20 to play another GSAC doubleheader beginning at 2:00pm.
