Macon, Ga. - Wesleyan College junior Lindsay Haggerty has been named to the Great South Athletic Conference women's basketball All Conference team. This marks the first All Conference selection for the Pioneers since the 2002-03 season when Megan Elliot earned the honor.
Haggerty helped lead the Pioneers to an 8-12 record this year, which marks their best season in nearly a decade. She wrapped up the season ranked in the top ten in six different GSAC categories, highlighted by her league-leading scoring average of 16.7 points per game. She finished second in minutes played (36.2), fourth in steals (2.8 spg), sixth in three pointers made (36), seventh in offensive rebounds (53) and eighth in overall rebounding (6.8 rpg).
Haggerty finished the year with four double-doubles and led Wesleyan in scoring in 16 of their 19 games played. She scored 15 or more points in 13 of her 19 games and finished out the season with back-to-back 29 point performances.
Also honored by the Great South at season's end was sophomore Evgenia Korun, who was named to the GSAC Academic All Conference team. In order to receive this honor, she had to maintain a grade point average of 3.25 or higher over the course of the academic school year. Korun was also named the recipient of the GSAC Team Sportsmanship Award for exemplifying good character and sportsmanship throughout the season.
