MACON, Ga. - Five-time defending NCCAA Division II national champion Clearwater Christian College swept Wesleyan College 3-0 in the team's season opening volleyball match.
Wesleyan (0-1) improved their offensive production each set and committed just one attack error in the third set. Newcomer La'Joi Battle tallied four kills and a pair of solo blocks in her collegiate debut while veteran Alaina Avera added three more kills.
The Cougars (7-0) got 13 kills from Georganna Little to extend their win streak to seven matches to begin 2011.
The Pioneers conclude their season-opening homestand with a match versus Truett-McConnell on Saturday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
