Frigid Night Undercuts Wesleyan Basketball

A frigid shooting night undercut Wesleyan College's chances at picking up a road win at Huntingdon College as they dropped their Great South Athletic Conference contest 66-34 on Thursday night.

The Lady Hawks (12-9, 5-3 GSAC) took advantage of the poor shooting by scoring the first 17 points of the game and never looked back. Shmyra Hopkins scored the first basket for the Pioneers (4-14, 0-7 GSAC) at the 9:28 mark after Wesleyan opened the game 0-for-11 from the floor with 10 turnovers.

Kevi Martin picked up 11 rebounds to go with a career-best nine blocks while Kassandra Epps finished with 11 points to pace Wesleyan. Lori Bonds and Dusti Doss led Huntingdon with 12 points each.

Wesleyan looks to snap their three-game losing streak at Spelman College on Saturday.
