WESLEYAN SOFTBALL DROPS TWO AT GEORGIA SOUTHWESTERN INVITATIONAL

Playing against Division II competition in the Georgia Southwestern Invitational, the Wesleyan College softball team (2-2) dropped games to both Armstrong Atlantic and Georgia Southwestern on Friday evening.

In their first game against Armstrong Atlantic, the Pioneers were stunned by a Pirate grand slam followed by a two-run home run in the opening inning and were never able to recover. Wesleyan was only able to generate three hits on offense and lost the game 16-0.

In the nightcap, the Pioneers took on host Georgia Southwestern, losing 8-0 in six innings.

The Pioneers will face Anderson University, Brewton Parker College and Flagler College on Saturday to round out the tournament.
