Wesleyan Softball Looking To Return To Winning Ways vs. Andrew College

Having already swept Andrew College once this season, the Wesleyan College softball team is looking to get back on the winning track when they face off against the Lady Tigers tomorrow evening.

In the season opener played in Cuthbert, Ga., the Pioneers gave a dominant performance both at the plate and in the field, winning the first game of the doubleheader by a score of 8-0 after the run rule was inforced in the fifth inning. DaLin Gillis led the defense from the mound, striking out six, while only surrendering two hits and one walk. Offensively, the Pioneers racked up 11 hits, which has been the missing ingredient in games played more recently.

Game two was a back-and-forth battle, but Wesleyan proved to be resilient and refused to lose, picking up their second win of the day, 7-6 in nine innings. The Pioneers added another 10 hits to the day's offensive totals, and Cheyanne Siebenaler picked up her first win of the season.

The first pitch of doubleheader action is scheduled for 5:00pm at the Mathews Athletic Complex on the campus of Wesleyan College. Admission is free.
