The Wesleyan College softball team will take to the field again on Friday afternoon when they face off against Rhodes College out of Memphis, Tenn and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Pioneers (0-9) are looking to bounce back after a pair of tough 4-0 losses to Georgia Southwestern earlier in the week, while the Lynx (0-0) will be seeing their first action of the season.
Rhodes returns eight players from last season's 13-19 team, while adding six freshman players in the off season. Catcher Rebekah Moore, third baseman Jennifer Whatley and pitcher Sara Bowen were all named to last year's All-SCAC team and will anchor the Lynx infield once again this season.
Wesleyan will look to Belle Thomas, Denise Ramey and DaLin Gillis to help the Pioneers find an offensive rhythm early, while Gillis and Cheyanne Siebenaler will anchor the defense from the pitching mound.
The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4:00pm.
